The Institute has three objectives in running its annual awards program:
- Recognising and applauding those who have contributed creatively and enthusiastically to improve Animal Management service delivery
- Providing a public (benchmark) record of personal high achievement
- Fostering a collegiate sense of mutual support within the Institute
The annual awards program is not really a competition in the usual sense. It is not about who comes from the biggest metropolis and nor is it about who has the biggest budget to work with. Importantly, it is not about winners and losers. This awards program aims to recognise dedicated people who do good work with the resources they have at their disposal.
Two awards are offered:
Animal Management Officer of the year award
Animal Management Plan of the year award
